Incredible Sushi in Vienna´s center
While
strolling through the small, idyllic streets of the first district of Vienna
you might find yourself hungry at some point. In case you are near “Hohermarkt”
definitely check out Iko on “Wipplingerstraße”. The restaurant itself is rather
small but very modern designed and has a charming touch. You should probably
make a reservation around evening since it can be very crowded. In summer there
is also the possibility to sit outside.
What to
eat:
The first
thing you should know is that there are two menus, a lunch menu and a dinner
menu and obviously the lunch (until 5pm) one is way cheaper. Both menus have a
lot of different dishes to offer, so no worries if you are in a group with a
non-sushi-lover, they´ll definitely find something to eat for themselves.
Lunch:
The Lunch
menu is divided into hot dishes, salads, side dishes, rolls and sushi
variations. For a Sushi-Restaurant in the first district the Maki is pretty
prizeworthy (€5,50 to €8,50). Of course, some of them are more and others are
less special, anyhow I can just recommend the Salmon Tartar roll in case you
like salmon and spring onion (€7,5). Another favourite of mine is the
temptation roll which is made out of grilled chicken, avocado and teriyaki
sauce.
Dinner:
Dragon Roll, Rockstar Roll |
Result:
So, to sum
up, it a very nice Asian Restaurant where you find exclusive and extraordinary
looking sushi. You might think because the food really does look extravagant it
wouldn’t taste as good as it looks. But that is definitely wrong, it is one of
the best Sushi I have ever had. They work with fresh ingredients and the rice
is the perfect mix of sticky and fluffy. Of course, it is more expensive than
other restaurants where you also can eat sushi, however I don’t think you will
find that kind of quality in a lot of other places.
